The Importance of Fashion and your Engagement Session | Alexa & Gregory at Longwood Gardens

Happy Monday! And HAPPY SPRING! I don’t know about you, but I feel as if my soul has been reawakened, and I am here for it. And while I’m equally excited for Spring – I am exceptionally aware that I am so behind in showcasing all the incredible beauty we captured last year as I’m trying to catch up on blogging so we can start fresh for our 2022 season!

It’s not a secret to anyone how often we were at Longwood Gardens last year. I think I counted about 15 times for sessions. And yes, the security guards do recognize us now. But can you blame our couples?! Longwood Gardens is one of the most stunning locations for sessions. Between the intricately designed gardens to the European-styled fountains, every time I’m there, I always say….”why oh why, don’t they do weddings there” trust me, I have about 20 different weddings designed in my head for Longwood Gardens. But for now, I’m here for fantastic fashion and even more fantastic love between our couples for their engagement sessions.

Alexa & Gregory are no different. For this session, these two stunning humans traveled from New York to Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. Knowing ahead of time of what Alexa chose for her wardrobe, I knew the exact locations of where we were going to focus on for each style…like I said – we were there A LOT. 😉 And a place as vast as Longwood Gardens, you need a plan.

First off – Alexa & Greg rocked the neutrals. For this look, we focused on the more green areas of the gardens so their neutrals would pop and compliment the greenery perfectly. Of course, since they were in white, we didn’t go too dense into the foliage because then we ran the risk of the green reflecting on Alexas white dress. If she wanted her dress to look green – she would have been wearing a green dress. True to tone 101

Her second dress was by far one of my favorite dresses last year. This soft blue-tiered floral dress is captivating and even more stunning on Alexa. Knowing how well blue pops off the ivory fountains, we chose that spot as our primary focus on location for this style. We, of course, had to get some garden aspects in this dress, so we headed to an area where there were stunning blush florals to complement Alexa’s blue dress.

When we express how important fashion choices are when it comes to our mindset of each session & wedding, we are not kidding! We have a pretty extensive style guide we send to each of our couples. Maybe it comes from the connections and relationships we have with designers. Perhaps I just like pretty things – which I do. However, we take so much pride and interest in our couples engagement sessions. To us, it’s not just something to check off your wedding planning checklist. It’s a vital part of your experience, how we serve you and form a better connection with you. Therefore, having those details planned out makes for such a magnificent showstopper type of session.

Alexa & Gregory, you two are perfection! I know I say that you Alexa almost every time we chat, text, or DM. We are so thankful you chose us and that we get to serve you through this journey. This fall, your wedding at Rosewood Farms will be one for the books, and we are counting down the days.
